Make in Africa proposes that African governments, regional bodies and partner countries build a startup ecosystem that rewards founders who make things as well as apps. This Startup Framework 2027-2035 covers technology, biotechnology, agribusiness, renewable energy, fintech and manufacturing. It is a set of proposals, not law. By supporting infrastructure, capital access and mentorship, we aim to help African and international entrepreneurs grow ventures that create lasting jobs.
The framework seeks to help launch many more African startups, promote inclusive entrepreneurship, and support every phase of the journey from idea to commercial production, with access to continental markets under AfCFTA.

We envision an Africa where founders can innovate, collaborate and succeed at home. With fair partnerships, reliable infrastructure and patient capital, African countries can move from selling raw materials to building knowledge-based, value-adding economies.
This Startup Framework is a proposal to make Africa a place where new ventures can start and scale. It focuses on infrastructure, incentives, patient capital and partnerships, with technology sharing and market access from partner economies on fair terms.
Make in Africa invites startups, investors and entrepreneurs from across Africa and from partner countries to join the movement. Together, let’s build African industries for the decades ahead.
The Make In Africa Global Summit (MIAGS) is a global platform connecting leaders, businesses, investors, institutions and policymakers shaping the next era of economic growth across the Global South and Africa.
MIAGS advances South–South cooperation, trade, investment, industrialization, technology, infrastructure and economic resilience, creating platforms for dialogue, strategic partnerships and cross-border opportunities.
Our mission is to strengthen the Global South and Africa’s role in the global economy by connecting capital with opportunity, innovation with markets and economic priorities with action—while fostering a more connected, productive and influential economic future.
