Industry Reports

Evidence for Africa's Builders

Facts Before Opinions

Africa has the resources, young people and a single continental market, yet far too much is still shipped out raw. Make in Africa publishes sector briefs, committee reports and scorecards so members, governments and partners can decide on evidence and see who delivers.

Types of Report

The Make in Africa report library includes:

Sector Briefs

  • Short guides to a sector's value chain, from raw material to finished product.
  • Where processing can happen in Africa and what blocks it today.

Committee Reports

  • Position papers drafted by our expert committees on trade, finance and standards.
  • Clear asks of governments, regional bodies and partner countries.

Delivery Scorecards

  • Tracking of commitments on finance, market access and technology sharing.
  • Public scoring of who delivers, in Africa and abroad.

How the Library Grows

Reports are published as each one is completed and reviewed. Committees draft, and we draw on independent data from institutions such as the African Development Bank, the UN Economic Commission for Africa and UNIDO. Members can access the library through their membership.
