Make in Africa
Building Industrial Hubs Across a Continent

Our Mission
Make in Africa

Make in Africa works to build more of what Africa uses and sells, in Africa. We connect regional industrial and innovation hubs across the continent into one coordinated network, so value, jobs and technology stay closer to home.

Our Mission
One Voice, Built From Many

The Advocacy Committee carries the movement’s councils to governments and partners worldwide. Its job is to turn the priorities of many members into one clear message: fair terms, patient capital and real technology sharing.

Key Roles of the Advocacy Committee

Strategic Alignment Across Councils

The Advocacy Committee coordinates the movement's councils, from technology to agriculture and food security, so their work reinforces one shared strategy rather than running in parallel.

  • Technology and Innovation: Advancing AI, robotics and digital industry policy across the continent.
  • Sustainability: Embedding renewable energy and sustainable agriculture in every council's agenda.

Policy Advocacy and Influence

The Committee engages governments, the African Union and regional bodies to build policy environments that support local processing and AfCFTA trade.

  • Technology and AI: Advocating for digital infrastructure and AI governance that hold across the continent.
  • Healthcare and Education: Promoting access policies that build a workforce ready for what is next.

Building Partnerships and Alliances

The Committee builds partnerships between the councils and outside institutions, such as research bodies, companies and civil society groups, and presses partner countries to put value back into Africa.

  • Trade and Investment: Pressing for market access for processed African goods and fairly priced long-term finance.
  • Cultural and Social Impact: Partnering on initiatives that reflect Africa's shared, diverse heritage.

Ensuring Inclusivity and Representation

The Committee works to ensure the movement's governance reflects the continent's diversity, not just its largest economies.

  • Gender Equality: Promoting policies that expand women's role in leadership across sectors.
  • Youth Empowerment: Building pathways for young entrepreneurs to shape the continent's direction.

One Strategy, Built From Many Voices

The Advocacy Committee makes Make in Africa work in practice. It turns the priorities of many councils and many countries into one direction, and it will keep score and publish who delivers.

Join us in building a shared strategy for African industry.

Be part of a movement that includes every member, not just the largest.
